Microsoft has not provided a cross-platform solution for using other ODBC drivers. Microsoft has succeeded in providing a cross-platform solution for SQL Server using the built-in SQL Server driver. You can NOT use the interface in Excel to Add external datasources. As I said in my answer before your reply - you MUST use the MAC OS X ODBC Manager app.
